Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are both believed to be ready to revamp their attacking department ahead of next season.

That would naturally see Chiefs and Pirates fighting within the same market for the calibre of players to improve them.

Pirates have already started their process of refreshing their attack by releasing two strikers two weeks ago. Both Saouibou Marou and Kermit Erasmus were deemed surplus to requirements at the club, which was largely expected. On the side of Chiefs, only Jasond Gonzalez will see his loan deal expire at the club. The rest of their misfiring strikers will either have to be sold or loaned or even have their deals terminated.

Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns interested in Appollis

While Chiefs still need to make those decisions, the advantage of Pirates is that they already have a coach. Amakhosi could have a situation where a new coach comes in and decides to give the misfiring players a chance. That could see the targets fall into the lap of the Buccaneers. The strikers that have been linked with both Soweto giants are Iqraam Rayners, Andy Boyeli and Oswin Appollis

Appollis is a player both Chiefs and Pirates have been monitoring for a while now. Mamelodi Sundowns are also believed to have joined the party. After his latest exploits for Bafana Bafana, it was believed the player could now be out of reach in the local market.

Amakhosi looking to break the bank for him!

But according to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs are willing to break the bank for Appollis.

“Soccer-Laduma understands that Polokwane City midfielder Oswin Appollis is high on the list of players Kaizer Chiefs are pursuing for next season. This gives an opportunity for City to cashing on the player and Amakhosi are willing to spend big to have the player in their squad for next season, the Siya crew understands” wrote the publication.

Now this sounds very exciting for Chiefs, as besides Appollis, they’re believed to be stepping up their Elias Mokwana chase. Would you be happy to welcome both to Naturena Khosi fans? Comment below!
