Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has dismissed with prejudice the notion that his club owe a fee to Royal AM.

The dispute arises from Chiefs capture of Dillon Solomons from Swallows.

Royal AM believe they had an agreement to acquire his services only to see him turn up at Naturena.

Sinky in a hole

The Durban club’s CEO Sinky Mnisi is currently suspended from his duties but that hasn’t stopped him from calling press conferences and claiming Kaizer Chiefs owe them a fee.

“The three players were Solomons, Ndlovu and Gamildien. The contractual agreement, agreed by an attorney, was between the president of Swallows and the president of Royal AM, not Sinky Mnisi,” said Mnisi earlier this week.

Kaizer Chiefs wave away protests

Motaung puts Mnisi’s protestations on the level of the ravings of a madman.

“Mnisi must leave us alone. We do not owe Royal AM anything,” said Motaung according to the Citizen.

“We have never spoken to them [Royal AM] about buying or selling any players. As he says that they spoke to Swallows about Solomons. He must go back to them [Swallows]. We don’t care about him. We are not in a fight with him. He is fighting himself.”

Mnisi also believes that a deal made with Swallows gives them rights over Solomons.

However, Solomons’ agent has made it clear they did not sign a deal with Royal AM. Therefore the player was free to join Kaizer Chiefs.

Royal AM have taken a number of high-profile court losses and it seems from the attitude of their CEO that they may be headed for another.

That being said, Royal AM owner Shauwn Mkhize has moved to distance herself from Mnisi, even taking the measure of suspending him from his CEO duties.

Meanwhile, Solomons has signed a four-year deal at Kaizer Chiefs and is likely to make his debut over the weekend against the self-same Royal AM.
