The entire Chiefs squad and staff did not show to their own stadium. However, their opponents Cape Town City did. This comes with some severe complications that Amakhosi will face as a result of not following the PSL rules.

THE RULES AMAKHOSI BROKE

The PSL may postpone a match BUT not the club. Chiefs may have announced that they have 31 positive cases of Covid and will not be competing but they did not follow the correct protocols.

They did follow Covid health protocols but did not get their match postponed by the PSL so they would have had a better chance fielding the players available mixed with a youth side to avoid the severe punishments they now have to face.
