Kaizer Chiefs returned to DStv Premiership action this evening when they hosted Stellenbosch FC at the FNB Stadium.

The Glamour Boys wasted little to hit the ground running after Ashley Du Preez opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors after goalkeeper Sage Stephens was given his marching orders for handing the ball outside of the box.

Keagan Dolly then made the numerical advantage count a few minutes later to give the hosts a 2-0 lead after less than half an hour of play gone.

The scoreline remained that way until half-time. Follow the second half here.

We are the second best team – Zwane

“When things are not going your way, people will always doubt the quality.” the Kaizer Chiefs coach said as quoted by TimesLive.

“But I will say it again, when you look at the number of chances we have created this season we are probably the second-best after Mamelodi Sundowns.

“The only difference is that Sundowns took 80% of their chances and we only scored 30%.

“And when it comes to defending, we have been very sloppy. When you look at all the goals we have conceded, it’s not that teams punished us.

“They punished us because we gave them the ball to punish us. It’s not that they outplayed or outclassed us.”
