As The South African website has been reporting since June, Arthur Zwane and his technical team have invited three previous strikers to try and impress the club.

The players have included Burundi’s Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, and the local duo of Wayde Lekay and Fuad Johnson.

All three had failed to show they were what Amakhosi are looking for.

As this website further reported,  former SuperSport United number nine Darren Smith was the next arrival at Naturena.

The 26-year-old from Cape Town is a free agent after leaving Moroccan club FAR Rabat where he managed one goal in 10 games last season.

“Smith, 26, has just returned from a six-month stint in the Moroccan Botola Pro league with AS FAR and has now been invited to train with Amakhosi, iDiski Times has learnt – with the player completing his first session at Naturena on Thursday,” the report said.

Following Lakay , Johnson, and Bimenyimana, the club has now also made the call on Smith.

Speaking to the media last Thursday, the club’s Director of Football Kaizer Motuang Jnr revealed that Smith has been told to look elsewhere.

“Darren is no longer with us, I received the assessment report and he’s maybe not what we need. Caleb from Burundi was also with us and has also left,” Motaung said on Thursday via SA FM.
