Anyone that has followed Kaizer Chiefs in the past season will know the connection between Amakhosi and Stellenbosch FC. The two clubs are starting to look like the new Orlando Pirates and Chippa United.

Following another FIFA international week as Bafana Bafana booked a place at AFCON 2024, the domestic league is coming back to action this weekend.

Soweto giants Amakhosi will host Stellenbosch FC in Johannesburg on Saturday at 17:30. Mention the Stellensbosch name to a Chiefs fan and they will immediately think of the players Amakhosi need to sign from the Cape Winelands club.

Having established a business relationship with the signings of Phathutshedzo Nange, Zitha Kwinika and Ashley du Preez to Naturena, the two clubs are expected to continue the business.

So which players are tipped to become the next Glamour Boys? The list includes two players: attacking midfielder Junior Mendieta (29) and the defensive midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa (28).
Meanwhile, two other players have since become key performance for the Cape club. The box-to-box midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar (20) and Iqraam Rayners (27) have started to become the leading names in the latest conversations on the best players at Stellies.

While Mthethwa will, unfortunately, face suspension this weekend, will Mendieta, Jabaar, and Rayners spark new transfer reports after Saturday’s game? We shall find out in a couple of days.
