Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: TWO striker trialists leave Naturena!

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr has confirmed that TWO of their striker trialists have stopped training with the team.

Amakhosi had invited both Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Darren Smith to Naturena for assessment, but the duo have since left the club.

Bimenyimana was the first to leave Naturena but media reports suggest that he’s still waiting to hear from the Chiefs management if he will be given a deal.

The Burundi international had spent several weeks with Chiefs, and left a good impression after scoring twice in three friendly matches for the team.

For Smith, this is the end of the road, especially because he had just joined Chiefs following his return from Morocco.

The 26-year-old marksman was on the books of Moroccan side FAR Rabat where he found the back of the net just once in 10 games last season.

And perhaps that’s the reason Chiefs decided not to keep him longer in the camp as they could see he wasn’t going to give them what they are looking for – goals.

The news of both Bimenyimana and Smith leaving the Chiefs base in Naturena was confirmed by Motaung Jnr in an interview with Thabiso Mosia on SAFM.

TWO STRIKER TRIALISTS LEAVE KAIZER CHIEFS

“Darren is no longer with us. I received the assessment report and he’s maybe not what we need. Caleb from Burundi was also with us and has also left,” said Motaung Jnr.

Meanwhile, former Cape Town City left wing-back Edmilson Dove continues to be assessed by the Chiefs technical team after arriving earlier this week.

Dove left City at the start of last season, and he returned to Mozambique whom he recently represented at the 2022 Cosafa Cup tournament in Durban.
