Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Huge interest in out-of-favour star?

The January transfer window is fast approaching, and teams are in the market for new stars while some want to secure their futures elsewhere.

Kaizer Chiefs defender Austin Dube could be among the players on the move come the mid-season transfer window which opens in Janaury.

According to Soccer Laduma, Dube has attracted huge interest from no fewer than three PSL clubs ahead of the opening of the transfer window.

Dube has fallen out of favour at Chiefs this season after struggling to cement his place in the team in his first season with the club last term.

In fact, there were reports of him possibly leaving Chiefs in the previous transfer window but he reportedly rejected the proposed move.

Now, the publication reports that Richards Bay FC are closely monitoring Dube’s situation at Chiefs and are keen on signing him in January even if it’s on loan.

The other two teams reportedly keen on Dube are Stellenbosch FC and Chippa United, according to sources known to the publication.

“Thabani Dube’s situation at Chiefs is monitored by his former club Richards Bay. There is interest in the player to possibly sign him on loan in January,” claims a source.

Dube has a running contract with Chiefs until June 2024, meaning whoever wants his services should speak to the club.

However, with just 17 appearances to his name since arriving at Naturena, Chiefs could be tempted to loan him out or even cash in on him before then.
