Kaizer Chiefs have been given hope regarding a transfer target after Cape Town City FC boss John Comitis opened the door to a Thabo Nodada exit from the club should a worthy offer come his way.

Nodada has openly expressed his desire to join his ‘childhood’ team Kaizer Chiefs earlier this year and with the path to landing him being cleared by Comitis, it is now up to potential suitors to splash the cash!

Nodada keen on Kaizer Chiefs challenge

“Yes, it’s a new challenge; it would be a new challenge for me.” Thabo Nodada said in an interview with TimesLIVE podcast earlier this year regarding a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs.

“I’d definitely be excited with a challenge like that. I think definitely. I have said it before, at 21, 22, 24 and I am on the verge of turning 26. I need a new challenge and what better challenge would it be than to play for a team that was your childhood dream (Kaizer Chiefs)?”

Comitis open to selling Thabo Nodada

Nodada still has two years left on his contract at Cape Town City meaning potential suitors which includes the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates as well as international teams will have to fork out serious cash to land the star.

To give further hope to potential suitors, Cape Town City also sold their star man Kermit Erasmus to Mamelodi Sundowns last season when the offer met their demands.

According to Transfermarkt, Thabo Nodada is worth approximately R11 million and it’s understood that John Comitis won’t let him go for a single penny less.

“I would do that with any player. If I can get an offer, I will make it work, because it’s important that they have this experience.” Cape Town City boss John Comitis told members of the media regarding Thabo Nodada’s future amid links to both Kaizer Chiefs and Europe.

“Our national team needs players that play in Europe and have those experiences. So, we’re part of the big solution. But we have to remain competitive locally and we will have one or two players that will come in to replace Thabo if, in fact, we do have a final deal for him,”
