Kaizer Chiefs target Zungu: ‘Mamelodi Sundowns are speaking to my agent’

Close your eyes if you support Kaizer Chiefs. The club’s big target Bongani Zungu has revealed that Mamelodi Sundowns are simply leading the race for his signature.

As it has widely been reported across South African media, Amakhosi have had their eyes on Zungu, especially after the departures of Kearyn Baccus and Anthony Agay in the number six position.

According to the former Amiens player, who is currently in Mzansi as a free agent, Chiefs have not called his agent’s phone. It is Sundowns who have taken the steps to make an offer.

“I’m very calm. As I said earlier, this is a very, very important part of my football career. For me, I want it to be maybe my last contract of my career,” Zungu said on Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube, as per iDiskiTimes.

“Whether abroad or at home,” he added.

“I met president Motsepe the other year and he told me Sundowns will always be home.

“So Sundowns will always be my home, no matter what happens from now until when I make my decision on where I’m gonna play.

“Sundowns is the only team that spoke to my agent and they are speaking to my agent still. Others are trying to [as well].”

Replying on whether Chiefs have enquired about his services or not, Zungu said: “I’m a top player, of course teams are going to try and find out what’s your situation and all. My phone is open, I’m listening to [offers],” he concluded.
