Kaizer Chiefs target young Maritzburg United forward!

Kaizer Chiefs are a team that needs to make a whole host of changes in the attacking areas of the pitch, having been blunt all of last season.

Chiefs signed all of Ashley du Preez, Caleb Bimenyimana as well as Christian Saile with none of the above proving a consistent solution.

So far, the recruitment drive at the club has already started, with the club already announcing Thathoyane Dithlokwe from SuperSport United as a new signing on a pre-contract. They are also believed to have clinched the signature of TS Galaxy captain Given Msimango on what is believed to be a three-year deal. Those, however, are two defensive signings with Chiefs only attacking signing so far, thought to be that of Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City.

But those players are thought to be just the tip of the iceberg compared to the wholesale changes that are believed to be on the horizon for Chiefs. At the start of the Arthur Zwane-era Chiefs made a massive clear out, getting rid of some experienced players, some of which had not been able to lead Amakhosi to any silverware during their lengthy stays at the club.

After that, Chiefs invested in players who were either younger or in their prime years, like ,du Preez, Zitha Kwinika, George Matlou, Dillon Solomons and Yusuf Maart to name but a few. That trend is set to continue if the latest reports are anything to go by as the club are have been credited with an interest in Maritzburg United forward Rowan Human.

The player is set to try help Maritzburg stay up through the promotion/relegation playoffs but after that, it does not seem like Human will be staying at the club much longer. The former Bidvest Wits  star will see his contract run out at the end of the next month, and it doesn’t seem like he will have any shortage of options when it comes to its conclusion.

That is because Soccer-Laduma are suggesting that Chiefs have set their sights on roping in the player for next season, as part of their attacking revamp. 

Chiefs interested in Human

“Siya sources have informed this publication that the Soweto giants have set their sights on the stocky star and are keen to bolster their midfield options with his acquisition. According to the sources, the 22-year-old will see his contract with the Team of Choice come to an end on 30 June 2023 with the club having an option to renew for a further year” wrote the publication.

Chiefs would ideally want Maritzburg to get relegated, with the hopes that will make negotiations for Human a lot easier.
