Kaizer Chiefs suffer injury blow as Nurkovic is ruled out for two months!

Kaizer Chiefs have been dealt a major injury blow after confirmation that Samir Nurkovic will be out for TWO months!

In a statement released on Thursday, Chiefs head physiotherapist David Milner said Nurkovic had surgery last week.

And what was discovered was that Nurkovic had a tear in the cartilage of his right knee, and therefore, he will need up to two months to recover.

“Samir had surgery last week. They found a little tear in the cartilage of the right knee. The surgeon says he could be out between 6 to 8 weeks,” Milner told the Chiefs website.

Milner further re-assured the Amakhosi fans that Nurkovic is recovering well, and that he will be re-assessed next week.

“They smoothed out the cartilage. Overall, the operation was a success and in a week’s time he will be reassessed by the surgeon.

“We will have a clearer idea as to what is going on and plan the recovery process. We believe the timeline provided is one we can work with for now,” he said.

Now, with Nurkovic out until at least the end of November, Stuart Baxter will have to find solutions upfront where Chiefs haven’t been doing well.

This is because Leonardo Castro is still out injured while Lazarous Kambole has fallen out of favour at the club.
