Kaizer Chiefs can hurt anybody if they play the way they did against Chippa United in the 3-1 league win at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

These were the words of Stuart Baxter who was over the moon after watching Chiefs dominate the encounter but most importantly keep their slim title aspirations alive.

According to Baxter, Chiefs played the brand of football he’s been yearning for – through and calmly in possession with some good movements.

And if they can continue doing that, Baxter believes they can be unstoppable, especially in the remaining nine league games of the season.

“I hope this confirms for the players that when we play our way, through and calmly in possession with good movement, they know we can hurt anybody,” Baxter told reporters.

“At the same time, when we don’t play well I know we can shoot ourselves in the foot. We’ve got proof of that now and I don’t know how much more proof we need to stay focused but from here on in, that will be the message.”

On the horizon for Chiefs is a league encounter against TS Galaxy at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
