Baxter confirmed that the 32-year-old is still in his native Colombia recovering from a long-term injury.

“We’ve got Leo Castro who is still in Columbia and can’t do his rehab yet after his operation – he is totally immobile at the moment.

“So that (recovery) is way down the road,” explained Baxter.

Castro joined Kaizer Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018 and has played in 110 matches scoring 29 goals.

Coincidently, Mamelodi Sundowns will host Kaizer Chiefs in a mouth-watering DStv Premiership clash on Sunday, 12 September.

Kick-off is at 17:00.

One wonders if Castro will be following the match back home. At the very least he’ll surely be following The South African’s LIVE coverage of the clash!
