Axed Kaizer Chiefs star signs for Amakhosi’s Soweto rivals?

Ernst Middendorp has landed one of his former Kaizer Chiefs players according to the latest PSL transfer reports!

Nigerian international goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has finally found a new club after being shown the door by Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season.

The experienced goalkeeper has joined Swallows FC according to the latest transfer reports!

Akpeyi has been unemployed since leaving the Glamour Boys at the end of last season.

The goalkeeper has been training with the Dube Birds for awhile now, however was only able to put pen-to-paper after FIFA lifted the club’s transfer ban!

Ex Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper signs for Swallows

“Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has found a new Premier Soccer League club and signed with Swallows FC after their ban was lifted.” an IdiskiTimes report read.

“One of the first transfers since the expiration of the ban is the signing of goalkeeper Akpeyi…He has now penned a six-month contract with an option to extend it by two years.”

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs’ massive fanbase will be running out of patience with their beloved team.

Despite visible frailties on the field of play, Chiefs have had a rather underwhelming January transfer window.

The club welcomed 22-year-old Congolese striker Christian Saile Basomboli. Furthermore, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe signed a pre-contract at the club.

But the fireworks Kaizer Chiefs fans were expecting hasn’t happened.

To add to their woes, reports suggest the Amakhosi rejected the opportunity to sign at least three quality players.

As reported by The South African, Pule Mmodi, Kamohelo Mokotjo and Venezuelan international Edson Castillo were all turned away by Chiefs.

There is some positive news for Kaizer Chiefs fans though…

Football manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed the club are still looking at completing more signings!

“For now you can say that, but it is never done until it’s over.” Motaung told KickOff.

“But at the moment we are still busy. We don’t know yet how many players we might add. It depends on what the needs are and what might be available on the market.”
