Kaizer Chiefs have given one of their star players permission to leave Naturena following a family emergency.
According to Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter, star striker Samir Nurkovic has been given permission to return to his native country, Serbia.
This is because his father is seriously ill.
“He has been allowed to go home to be with his seriously ill father,” confirmed Baxter.
There is currently no timeframe on his return. However, Nurkovic is currently out injured.
He is undergoing rehabilitation which he is going to continue during his time in his home country. Nurkovic has had a couple of tough months. First he sustained a serious knee injury and now he is dealing with personal family concerns.
Nurkovic had a successful operation on his knee a few weeks ago. He is working hard at returning to action but right now his focus is on his family.
The South African wishes Nurkovic’s father a speedy recovery.
