Siyethemba Sithebe opens up on feeling to be back in football

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe is itching for PSL action after watching from the stands for eight months.

Interestingly, his Kaizer Chiefs debut might be in his home province, KwaZulu-Natal.

In the January transfer window, a Sithebe-Chiefs saga emerged as AmaZulu club president Sandile Zungu believed the two held transfer talks before December.

He meant that Chiefs signed Sithebe before he entered his final six months with Usuthu where he’d be then allowed to have talks with any club.

Zungu then decided to stop him from playing for the club, yet he was still allowed to train.

The Newcastle-born player was officially unveiled by Amakhosi in July.

SITHEBE RARING TO GO

“I am excited at the prospect of playing PSL football again,” Sithebe told the club’s website.

“What makes it even better is the fact that I have a chance to play for my childhood club. It’s a dream come true for me and I promise to work hard.

“It has been tough watching from the sidelines, but I kept training hard, so my fitness levels didn’t drop.

“The prospect of playing in front of thousands of Amakhosi fans gives me goosebumps as it is every footballer’s dream to have such support behind you when on the field of play.”

Sithebe, who’s said to be fit and raring to go, is confident that the hard work they’ve been putting in during training will pay off.

“We trained hard during the pre-season and Coach Arthur Zwane and his team have done a tremendous job of ensuring that we the new guys are integrated into the system. The work continues and we will need to show what we’ve been doing, starting with the game on Saturday,” Sithebe added.
