Our new Kaizer Chiefs daily feature is called Transfer Signing of the Day. We look back at every successful Amakhosi transfer dating back from the year 2000.

KAIZER CHIEFS TRANSFER OF THE DAY

Today’s featured transfer is the club’s biggest modern legend since Pule Patrick Ace Ntsoelengwe and Doctor Khumalo.

He was signed from the club’s academy in 2004 to become a goalkeeping superstar

ITUMELENG KHUNE

The Ventersdorp-born star began training with the first team aged 18 before making his official debut under Muhsin Ertugral in 2007. Khune replaced some of Chiefs’ best-ever goalkeepers in Rowen Fernandez and Emile Baron.

Khune, later nicknamed “Mzansi’s number 1,” lifted three league titles, six domestic cups, the league’s footballer of the year award while also earning 91 caps for Bafana Bafana.
