Kaizer Chiefs’ drama in the CAF Champions League has been resolved … or has it?

Kaizer Chiefs have escaped with a draw in their DStv Premiership clash against Maritzburg United on Wednesday, 10 March.

Kaizer Chiefs trailed relegation-threatened Maritzburg United at half-time at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Thabiso Kutumela scored the opening goal in the 15th minute to pile more pressure on Amakhosi coach Gavin Hunt.

Thankfully for Kaizer Chiefs supporters, midfielder Lebogang Manyama scored the equaliser in the 88th minute to spare Amakhosi’s blushes.

Kaizer Chiefs picked up one point for the draw, but dropped to 11th in the standings.

Maritzburg United remained in 15th place.
