Kaizer Chiefs have landed themselves in more hot water with the PSL Disciplinary Committee.

Amakhosi were already charged with failing to honour two DStv Premiership matches in December 2021 after a number of their squad and technical staff contracted Covid-19.

And now their legal battles have mounted even further after the Soweto giants were slapped with further charges – this time for fielding two ineligible players during their win over Sekhukhune United last December.

Those players were confirmed as Aden McCarthy and Mduduzi Shabalala.

“Kaizer Chiefs Football Club has been charged with fielding two defaulters, namely Aden McCarthy and Mduduzi Shabalala in the match between themselves and Sekhukhune United on 12 December 2021,” PSL Prosecutor Zola Majavu said in a statement.

“These players were not properly registered for purposes of the DStv Premiership league but were registered for purposes of the reserve league. That is the basis for the allegations they are facing.”

Kaizer Chiefs won the match in question 2-0.

Kaizer Chiefs will next face SuperSport United

The Glamour Boys are currently third in the DStv Premiership standings with 39 points after 22 matches.

They will next be in action at home against SuperSport United on Saturday, 16 April at 19:00.
