Reports: Kaizer Chiefs target Portugal-based South African attacker

This could be superb. Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly eyeing Mzansi’s talented winger Kobamelo Kodisang to leave Portugal for Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs might sign another local star that is fresh from a stint in Europe, after Keagan Dolly. This time it could be Braga’s Kodisang.

AMAKHOSI ENQUIRE ABOUT SPEEDY WINGER IN EUROPE

According to this new report, Kaizer Chiefs have identified the 22-year-old South African youth international Kodisang as a potential signing.

The former Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits speedy winger has been struggling to earn regular minutes at Braga’s reserve team.

Kabomelo Kodisang is understood to have made it onto Kaizer Chiefs’ radar, with the Soweto giants said to be asking questions about his availability at the end of the season,” Soccer Laduma reported in their latest print edition.

Additionally, Kodisang has a long-established relationship with Kaizer Chiefs’ Head of Youth Molefi Ntseki who coached the Seraleng-born player at SA’s juniors.

It remains to be seen if the dynamic winger will end up at Naturena before the start of next season.

During a recent briefing of the media, the former Kaizer Chiefs striker turned senior manager explained the club’s decision on the age range in the squad.

“I think it’s key for everyone to understand, and something the club is always going to say, that youth is part of our main strategy. We have to reduce the average age of the team.

“And it’s not just us. If you look at world football and how you can bring the right change, most clubs have had a great balance in youth, and you have to start somewhere.
