Cole Alexander on intimidating Kaizer Chiefs crowd

Playing for Kaizer Chiefs is about to be totally different. Especially for those players who joined when stadiums had no fans.

Newish Kaizer Chiefs star Cole Alexander is relishing to have Amakhosi’s intimidating crowd on his side, as opposed to when he used to play his football for the opposition.

KAIZER CHIEFS CROWD INTIMIDATED COLE ALEXANDER

As The South African reported last week, the fans will finally be back where they belong. The normality will return in this weekend’s Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.

For Kaizer Chiefs, the Amakhosi faithful are expected next weekend at home to SuperSport United.

For new players such as Alexander, the experience will be familiar but with a rather special twist.

Very excited about that, about the fans returning,” Alexander said via DiskiTimes.

“As a player it was always hard to play against Chiefs the crowd was very intimidating so for me I’m excited to have the opposite of that, to have the crowd for us, for me in this case that’s a big advantage.

I know because I’ve played against Chiefs when there was a crowd intimidating us definitely an advantage to the team. I’m just gonna give my best every single day, it’s all I can promise you.”

BAXTER ON WHAT AMAKHOSI ARE CHASING

Are Amakhosi actively chasing Sundowns to grab the DStv Premiership title out of their palms? Stuart Baxter has declined to put it in those plain words.

Following the assured 3-1 win at Chippa United last Saturday, Amakhosi are now 13 points behind Sundowns, including two games in hand.

This means that Kaizer Chiefs could possibly reduce Sundowns’ lead to seven points, before also facing Kabo Yellow on 8 May at the FNB Stadium.

What is Baxter thinking then? Or what is he willing to say to the media?

“We’re chasing the best position we can get, that’s what we’re chasing,’ Baxter said. Read the full story here.
