Kaizer Chiefs have recieved the support of a South African footballing giant in their case against the Premier Soccer League.

The Glamour Boys failed to honour two league matches due to a surge in COVID-19 cases at Naturena however the league rejected their request for postponement.

Kaizer Chiefs will now have to fight to avoid handing Cape Town City FC and Golden Arrows a free three points after failing to show up for the matches in December 2021.

The Glamour Boys however have recieved the support from South African giant Mlungisi “Professor” Ngubane who believes the matches should be replayed due to the circumstances surrounding it.

Kaizer Chiefs’ matches should be replayed – Professor Ngubane

“If they are saying their whole staff had Covid then how do you expect them to play knowing they are infected? Even the people you are playing against won’t be safe.” Professor Ngubane told Kickoff regarding Kaizer Chiefs’ situation.

“Whether it was true or not that’s another thing, but to go and play Cape Town City while 30 of your people have Covid, obviously even Cape Town City was not safe. Maybe Bra K (Kaizer Motaung) thought he was taking a responsible decision not knowing he was committing a sin.

“It’s a difficult one for Khoza because he might think he is doing the right thing for others only to find to others it’s wrong. The matches should be replayed because it was Covid, and Kaizer Chiefs were respecting the rules of Covid. This thing is deadly, so we have to respect it.”
