Kaizer Chiefs place TOP defender on transfer list – report

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly placed one of PSL’s TOP defenders on a transfer list ahead of the start of next season.

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly placed one of PSL’s TOP defenders on a transfer list ahead of the start of next season.

According to a report by iDiski Times, Njabulo Ngcobo may not be a Chiefs player come next term.

Ngcobo hasn’t been a regular since arriving at Chiefs two years ago, and this despite arriving as the league’s best defender from Swallows.

“Njabulo Ngcobo has been transfer-listed by Chiefs,” said a source known to the publication.

IS ZWANE THE REASON NGCOBO COULD BE LEAVING KAIZER CHIEFS?

The question that is on everyone’s lips right now is whether or not Arthur Zwane is the reason Ngcobo could be leaving Chiefs.

The pair had a fallout during a league match against Golden Arrows two seasons ago. This happened when Zwane substituted following a costly defensive error he made on the day.

On his way to the bench, Ngcobo snubbed Zwane a handshake, and that didn’t sit well with then goalkeeper coach Lee Baxter.

Ngcobo later apologised, and went into the following season with Zwane as the head coach, but he featured sparingly.

The 29-year-old made just 14 appearances across all competitions this past campaign; the majority of which were from the bench.

Overall, Ngcobo has played 29 competitive games for Chiefs over the past two seasons while finding the back of the net once.
