Kaizer Chiefs will have a new coach, a new captain and several new players next season with some regulars set to leave as well.

It truly is the end of an era for every Amakhosi fan. As we bid farewell Itumeleng Khune, we say goodbye to the final standing Amakhosi legend. Essentially, Khune follows the likes of Bernard Parker, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Williard Katsande and Erick Mathoho.

The new era will be ushered in with a new coach and captain. Furthermore, Amakhosi has hinted at making several big-signings. Including, targeting Percy Tau’s signature. You can expect a squad overhaul at Naturena.

CHIEFS TO HIRE NEW COACH ON A PERMANENT BASIS

Pitso Mosimane, Manqoba Mngqithi and Benni McCarthy are the local favorites for the Amakhosi hotseat. Meanwhile, Alexander Santon, Rui Vitoria and Raul Caneda all present strong international options. There is a high probability of one of these men being appointed. However, if recent history is anything to go by, they may sign somebody who has not even been mentioned.

Regardless, Chiefs will be signing an experienced manager who is successful since it is a long-term investment. They plan to sign the next coach on a long-term deal to give him time to build with the side. Moreover, this is a right that was not afforded to Cavin Johnson or his predessesors Molefi Ntseki or Arthur Zwane with all coaches axed after short tenure’s with the club.

NEW AMAKHOSI CAPTAIN

At the start of the season, Itumeleng Khune was announced club captain. Unfortunately, his time at the club is coming to an end. Meaning, the club will have to appoint a new captain. Interestingly, Keagan Dolly is the vice-captain but he missed large chunks of the season and is one of six players linked with exits out of Naturena.

This means that the new coach will have to select a new permanent manager with Yusuf Maart having donned the armband throughout large portions of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership. Moreover, the likes of Brandon Peterson, Given Msimango and Zither Kwinika all possess leadership qualities.

IN WITH THE NEW, OUT WITH THE OLD AT CHIEFS

The club is looking at bringing in top talent to the club.

Moreover, they are looking at players in every position, as previously reported on The South African. Ultimately, several top talents could be brought in as we say goodbye to many players as well. These six players are likely heading out of Naturena.

Therefore, Chiefs will have a new coach and a new-look team next season. Finally, there could be a different technical staff as well depending on who is signed by the board. As previously reported by the South African, fan-favorite Pitso Mosimane potential appointment would likely see Arthur Zwane and other members axed.
