The scoreline underlined the gulf in class that exists between the defending champion Brazilians and Amakhosi at present.
Mamelodi Sundowns took the lead through Grant Kekana in the eighth minute and doubled their lead thanks to Peter Shalulile in the 63rd minute.

The Glamour Boys had the chance to halve their deficit with 10 minutes to play, but Lebogang Manyama missed from the penalty spot.
Mamelodi Sundowns moved to the top of the standings after their win, while Kaizer Chiefs dropped to 10th place after just three matches of the 30-match 2021/22 season.
Mamelodi Sundowns will next be in action against TS Galaxy in a home fixture on Sunday, 19 September at 17:00 while Kaizer Chiefs will look to rebound at home against Royal AM on Saturday, 18 September at 17:00.
