Kaizer Chiefs outcast grateful for Sekhukhune United opportunity

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya is grateful to have signed a deal with Sekhukhune United after being released by Amakhosi last month.

Ntiya-Ntiya was one of the 10 players deemed surplus to requirements at Naturena in what was a massive clear-out ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The 25-year-old Ntiya-Ntiya was announced as a new signing by Sekhukhune United earlier this week having been on trial at the club.

Babina Noko also confirmed the arrivals of Victor Letsoalo and Tashreeq Morris on the same day.

Ntiya-Ntiya was left frustrated by his lack of game time at Kaizer Chiefs having made only nine appearances in two years for the Glamour Boys.

Sekhukhune United were 11th last season

“I’m grateful for the opportunity from Sekhukhune United and what people can expect from me is to work hard so that we put the team in a better position this season,” said Ntiya-Ntiya.

Sekhukhune United finished 11th in last season’s DStv Premiership final standings.

They will begin their 2022/23 campaign on the road against Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday, 6 August at 20:00.
