Chiefs & Pirates miss out on Letsoalo as he leaves Royal AM for new club

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have missed out on Victor Letsoalo after he reportedly signed for a new team from Royal AM.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have missed out on Victor Letsoalo after he reportedly signed for a new team from Royal AM.

According to a report by FarPost, Letsoalo has signed for Sekhukhune United who folked out money to secure his services from Royal AM.

And that’s because Letsoalo still had a year left on his contract with Royal AM who triggered the one-year option they had on his contract in January.

According to the publication, the 29-year-old Bafana Bafana international signed a three-year deal with an option to renew for a further year with Babina Noko.

Letsoalo’s move to Sekhukhune United is undoubtedly a massive blow for Chiefs who wanted to bring him in but couldn’t meet Royal AM’s asking price.

As things stand, Chiefs need a top number nine before closing the cheque book after having released Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro and Lazarous Kambole.

Royal AM had reportedly set a R20 million price tag on Letsoalo as they wanted to hold on to him beyond the previous season but that obviously scared Chiefs off.

However, it is unlikely that Sekhukhune paid that figure to land the former Bloemfontein Celtic marksman from Royal AM.

Now, the search continues for Chiefs who are currently assessing three strikers in Wayde Lekay, Musa Kamara and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.
