This article looks at the top ten players that have represented both Amakhosi and The Brazilians ahead of their DStv Premiership clash on Saturday, 7 May 2022.

Many of these men are former Bafana Bafana legends or are stars for their respective countries in Africa.

10) KHAMA BILLIAT

Billiat showed glimpses of his potential at Chiefs. However, he has not quite reached the form he had with The Brazilians where he was one of the best players in the PSL for Sundowns in recent years.

Billiat was an Instrumental part of the DSTV Premiership Champions securing several PSL titles and dominating the modern era or the PSL. Chiefs fans will be hoping that Billiat’s injuries are behind him and that the best is yet to come.

Especially, given that he’s facing his former side in a massive league encounter with their CAF Champions League hopes on the line. Billiat was the highest-paid player in the league last year, taking home a whopping R833 000 a month!

He is now third behind Samir Nurkovic and Keagan Dolly – who has made several records in the process!

9) KATLEGO MPHELA

Mphela earned the nickname ‘Killer” for his instinctive finishing ability. He joined Masandawana in 2009, becoming a household name for The Brazilians during this time.

In 2014, he signed for Amakhosi but was not the same player we saw at Sundowns.

Mphela played 162 times in the PSL and scored 58 goals for both The Brazilians and Chiefs.

8) BRIAN BALOYI

A true Amakhosi legend and icon of South African football.

Baloyi was nicknamed Spider-Man before Itumeleng Khune because he was a legendary keeper who was so good he appeared to have 8 arms.

Baloyi played for Chiefs for over a decade between 1993 and 2004 before signing for league rivals, Sundowns, in 2004.
