This could be the last Soweto derby for these Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates legends who made their names in this prestigious and storied rivalry.

Both Chiefs and Pirates have club legends who have carried their respective club for the last decade. With their careers or contracts coming to an end, this could be the last Soweto derby for Amakhosi and Bucs legends.

For Amakhosi, this could be Bernard Parker’s final Soweto derby as a player.

According to Goal, his contract expires in June and his agent, Mike Makaab has hinted at Amakhosi’s legend finally hanging up his boots. The ball is in his court but he could coach Amakhosi against Pirates someday, according to recent reports.

This, despite Chiefs spending millions on the likes of Keagan Dolly, S’fiso Hlanti, Njabulo Ngcobo, Cole Alexander and Brandon Peterson. Thulani Hlatshwayo, well he may not be a certified Bucs legend per se, he is a PSL legend and he plays for Pirates.

With his form under question and his contract nearing an end, this could be his last against Amakhosi. Bucs legend Wayne Sandilands announced his retirement so if he does play against Chiefs it will become his last Soweto derby.

Although, Richard Ofori is back and fit so it will come down to Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids decision here.
