RUMOUR: Sundowns to hijack Kaizer Chiefs deal for coveted playmaker

Kaizer Chiefs ready to trim their squad

Njabulo Ngcobo featured in just 11 league matches, seven of those as a starter. He initially lost his place in the side to Zitha Kwinika before Siyabonga Ngezana usurped both of them to take his place alongside Edmilson Dove. According to iDiski Times, top brass at Chiefs have decided to make Ngcobo available for sale.

Ngcobo joined Amakhosi at the start of the 2021-22 campaign from Soweto rivals Swallows, but struggled under Stuart Baxter and now Arthur Zwane, who he had a fallout with while 10111 was still interim coach. Ngcobo was substituted early in a match against Golden Arrows and refused to shake hands with Zwane. It’s an unsavoury incident from which he hasn’t recovered.

Ngcobo surplus to requirements at Naturena

Ngcobo apologised to Zwane and the team for his behaviour, but now it seems his race with Kaizer Chiefs is run. Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe have arrived, and Siyabonga Ngezana’s renaissance has seen him become a key figure at the back. Zitha Kwinika is also an option.
