Kaizer Chiefs latest: The ONE player with no minutes this season

Kaizer Chiefs have used almost every member of their squad this season but there is ONE player that hasn’t featured at all for Arthur Zwane.

Signed from Richards Bay FC in 2021, Thabani Dube came in highly rated after giving some solid shifts in the now Motsepe Foundation Championship.

However, he hasn’t really reached his full potential at Chiefs after a shaky first season with the Soweto giants.

Dube only played 17 games last season, the majority of which came from the bench – but this season has been very difficult for him.

Erick Mathoho finds himself in a similar situation but the only difference between him and Dube is that he did make a cameo appearance deep into stoppage time this season.

COULD KAIZER CHIEFS BE PLOTTING TO OFFLOAD THABANI DUBE?

Dube was linked with a possible exit from Chiefs in the previous transfer window but he wasn’t able to move despite reported PSL interest.

His lack of game time this season could either mean competition for places is stiff or he’s just not in Zwane’s plans at Chiefs.

A player like Njabulo Ngcobo has also not being playing recently, meaning Dube himself has a lot of work to do if he wants to return to the Chiefs starting line-up.

The arrival of Edmilson Dove who is a left-footed centre-back and a left-back, means Chiefs don’t really see Dube as an ideal centre-back for them.
