Chiefs in pole position for Chivaviro

The Glamour Boys are now favourites to sign marumo Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro, according to sources from Soccer Laduma.

The 30-year-old marksman’s fine form in the DStv Premiership and CAF Confederation Cup this season has alerted a number of suitors, including Kaizer Chiefs, with his 17 goals across both competitions in 30 matches attracting interest from within Mzansi and also abroad. Chiefs, Richards Bay, Sekhukhune and now Tanzanian giants Young Africans are all said to be keen. According to reports, Chivaviro recently turned down a R3m offer from Libyan side Al Akhdar and is strongly considering a move to Naturena.

SoccerLaduma sources believe the player’s camp has had discussions with Chiefs about him possibly signing with the club in the coming days.

“Kaizer Chiefs is seriously interested in Ranga Chivaviro to possibly add him to next season’s squad. Talks have been ongoing between the parties and the player recently turned down a big money offer from Al Akhdar of Libya because of the possibility to join Chiefs,” said the source.
