Kaizer Chiefs are edging closer to landing a new striker ahead of next season.

Former TS Galaxy striker Wayde Lekay has been on trial at the Glamour Boys for the last two weeks.

Chiefs got rid of Leonardo Castro, Samir Nurkovic and Lazarous Kambole at the end of last season.

The only striking reinforcement they’ve officially made thus far is that of the arrival of Ashley Du Preez.

Lekay however has since parted ways with TS Galaxy and looks set to join Kaizer Chiefs for FREE, pending the final outcome of his trial!

“It’s going to be a great season. It’s not only about me, but about the group at large.” Kwinika told the Kaizer Chiefs media team.

“Everyone in the team knows the pressure there is to come to rectify what has happened at the Club.

“It’s high time now for the Chiefs faithful to have a smile on their face. It won’t be an easy journey, it’s important that everyone comes together as a group.

“If we do it as a team, there’s so much potential, so much quality in this Kaizer Chiefs group that I don’t see anything or anyone that can stop us.

“It’s a case of getting together and making the Khosi faithful happy again,”
