KAIZER CHIEFS REJECT KAMOHELO MOKOTJO

The event follows after Amakhosi transferred Njabulo Blom to America’s St Louis before coach Arthur Zwane confirmed he is in the market for a central midfielder.

According to this newest report, the 31-year-old Mokotjo is available on a free deal but Chiefs are seemingly unhappy with the terms.

“Kaizer Chiefs have rejected an initial proposal to sign Bafana Bafana international midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo, who is a free agent,” SABC Sport‘s leading reporter Mazola Molefe reported.

“According to SABC Sport sources, Chiefs are reluctant to sign a player who is over 30 given the mandate by the club – headed by sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jnr and coach Arthur Zwane – to drastically reduce the average age of the squad,” the report added.

With Mokotjo’s 14 years’ worth of experience in places like the Netherlands, England, and the USA, his salary demands are expectantly high but does his elegant style of play as a deep-lying playmaker match with what Amakhosi are looking in a six? Not really.
