This doesn’t happen too often. Kaizer Chiefs’ left-back Sifiso Hlanti has delivered some type of magic fitness.

A few players from KwaZulu Natal have been cheaply nicknamed “Shaka Zulu” over the years, but here is the real Sigidi kaSenzangakhona.

KAIZER CHIEFS WELCOME BACK SIFISO HLANTI

Following a ninth-month absence after an Achilles tendon rupture, the 32-year-old from Durban was back on the green grass against Stellenbosch FC in August. What followed has been remarkable.

The former Chippa United, Golden Arrows, AmaZulu, and Bidvest Star has defied fitness recovery norms.

A ninth-month absence is often managed with a gradual re-introduction of minimal minutes like 15, 45, and 60-minute sessions on the pitch, but not Hlanti.

Instead, Hlanti has gone straight into a streak of full 10 games on the bounce, which is 918 minutes in that heavy Chiefs jersey without interruption. 

Meanwhile, Hlanti is expected to be in the starting lineup as Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates on Saturday at 15:30. Is he actually Shaka Zulu disguised as Sifiso Hlanti?

ARTHUR ZWANE SALUTES GEORGE MALULEKA

It’s part of football, former Chiefs players will always deliver blinding performances against the Glamour Boys. The latest example was last weekend in Durban.

As The South African website reported on Sunday evening, Arthur Zwane’s side will have to watch the final on television after failing to break down AmaZulu’s defense.
