Update: 17 players linked with Kaizer Chiefs, how many will sign?

What a time to be a Kaizer Chiefs fans. The overhaul is finally underway. Here are 17 players linked with the club so far…

Firstly, it’s obvious Kaizer Chiefs won’t sign 17 new players. The purpose for any club to have a long list is the reality that you’ll only secure about half the number of targets on your list.

THREE IN THE BAG KAIZER CHIEFS

As The South African reported in recent days, Amakhosi have sealed three deals so far, namely Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu, as well as the Stellenbosch FC duo of Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez.

But three is obviously nowhere near enough for the job to catch the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns as the supreme club on the land.

CHIEFS’ REPORTED TRANSFER TARGETS

So why target an excess of 17? Well, getting new deals on the line are dependent on key variables such as the initial approach, a player’s contract or free agency from his existing club, fee request, age, and competition from other possible suitors.

The factors above are therefore the reason that Amakhosi are linked with 17 players when they could eventually secure eight or entirely different names from the list below.

Meanwhile, a few of the 17 players listed below could be wearing Kaizer Chiefs tracksuits before the start of next season.
