“The lanky defender managed to catch the eye of the Soweto giants after leading a young Stellies side to clinching the DDC [DStv Diski Challenge], consistently marshalling the defence and being tasked with taking penalties for his side, something the left-footed defender managed with ease,” the report added.

Meanwhile, De Kock is presumably having preseason with the senior team after missing out on the final selection for Bafana Bafana’s COSAFA Cup squad.

CURRENT SITUATION AT STELLIES

De Kock is nevertheless expected to get promoted to Steve Barker’s first team after the departures of Zitha Kwinika, Sibusiso Mthethwa and Robin Johannes.

The club has so far signed the 30-year-old German Lasse Sobiech, who De Kock is expected to learn a great deal from if the youngster remains in the Western Cape this season.
