The Kaizer Chiefs jersey is indeed heavier. This is according to Stuart Baxter after Amakhosi drew 0-0 with TS Galaxy on Wednesday night.

Chatting after the tie, Baxter felt it was a night where the Kaizer Chiefs jersey felt a big heavier on some of his players.

When I was working with England national teams, we used to say that the England shirt can be heavy. It can weigh heavy,” the Brit said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“When you are not playing well and the expectations are high, it weighs heavy. I think it’s the case with Chiefs.

I think the expectations are high and I think the process of not doing bad, as you say, and being in the mix…sometimes that gets forgotten because we want so much.

That can be both good and bad, can’t it?

“We try to get the message down to the players so that they play freely and play without anxiety, but it’s a difficult one.

“When it’s in a situation where you think well ‘we should actually be doing better than this’…that weighs heavy on the players sometimes. It’s a difficult one to address, especially during a game,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will return to the matchday green grass again SuperSport United on Saturday 16 April, with the Amakhosi fans back in the stadium.
