Mngqithi says Kaizer Chiefs star also deserves Player of the Season

Kaizer Chiefs fans will enjoy this more than those of Mamelodi Sundowns. The club’s co-coach Mgqithi believes Keagan Dolly was as good as three Sundowns players this season.

MANQOBA MNGQITHI LISTS KAIZER CHIEFS STAR AMONG PLAYER OF THE SEASON CANDIDATES

Speaking after a thrilling 1-1 draw against Amakhosi on Sunday, Mngqithi was simply asked to share his views on some of the best performances in the league this term.

Among the former Golden Arrows and AmaZulu coach’s nominees are obviously Peter Shalulile, Themba Zwane, and Andile Jali.

However, it is his mention of Kaizer Chiefs’ Dolly that catches special attention.

“I have seen a lot from my team and think Peter Shalulile deserves the Player of the Year award,” Mngqithi said via Kick Off.

“So do Themba Zwane and AJ [Andile Jali], honestly speaking.

“I also think Keagan Dolly deserves it. He had a very good season as well and for that he deserves it,” he added.

NKOSINGIPHILE NGCOBO IMPRESSION

The soft-spoken tactician from KwaZulu Natal’s Umzimkulu concluded with a surprise special honourable mention of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.

“The young Ngcobo from Kaizer Chiefs, a central midfielder. I believe that boy had he had more appearances this season, there was a lot that he could have offered,” the coach said.

“But in terms of the Player of the Season award, those that I have mentioned, all deserve it,” he concluded.
