Whether Dolly is aware of this or not, the Kaizer Chiefs winger has shared his own personal reasons for packing his bags to return home to the sounds of vuvuzelas in the Premier Soccer League.

It was about playing again and wanting to be happy while being on the field,” Dolly said in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma.

“I mean it’s not a secret that I struggled a bit in France in terms of match-fitness and game-time. I really just wanted to play. I wanted a new environment to be happy again.

The 29-year-old star concluded with what he describes as the main factor: the birth of his girl child.

“The main factor for going back home was that my daughter was born and that was a turning point.

“I grew up not being around my family. I went to boarding school when I was 12, the School of Excellence, and then moved further away when I went to Mamelodi Sundowns (academy), then going to Cape Town (Ajax).

“I didn’t want my daughter growing up in an environment where she have stability, a home to grow up in and that’s what I wanted for her,” the Kaizer Chiefs ace concluded.
