KAIZER CHIEFS SURPRISE WITH BERNARD PARKER DECISION

While sections of Amakhosi fans loved to hate Parker, the 36-year-old from Boksburg was highly respected inside the club as a club legend and model professional.

He was even touted for a role at Naturena post his retirement.

It was therefore a surprise for Amakhosi to decide on parting ways with the former Bafana Bafana international.

PARKER BREAKS SILENCE ON AMAKHOSI EXIT

Meanwhile, Parker, who has since joined TS Galaxy, has sent a rather heartfelt message to the mighty Kaizer Chiefs.

According to the veteran, the club was within its rights to make the decision to part ways with Parker and his peers.

“Uh, I think football not only goes with playing, it also goes with business-wise as well, it is also visionary, you know,” Parker said to iDiski Times.

“Clubs have visions and things like that. So, when that decision was made by the club and they called me in, I respected that. I respect the decision and I understand because I’m an educated person as well, so I understand.

“I wish the club well and I wish them the very best going forward with the new coach, the new players. They have got a young and exciting team as well, and they have got a great vision for the near future.

“So, I respect that and I wish them all the best. My heart is always with them and I just had to accept that.

“Going forward we discussed a few things but it didn’t happen. It’s football, I understand decisions go with football and business and I respect that,” Parker concluded.
