Kaizer Chiefs target Patosi: ‘My partner and kids struggled to cope in Iran’

Another day, another Kaizer Chiefs target. The Middle East-based Ayanda Patosi has confirmed his interest in returning home.

As The South African website previously reported, Kaizer Chiefs, alongside Orlando Pirates, are believed to be taking aim at Ayanda Patosi.

As the reports have said, the former Cape Town City FC attacking midfielder from Khayelitsha is believed to be keen on a return home from Iran.

The 29-year-old was asked to confirm the situation after helping Foolad to the Iranian title last season with eight goals and five assists in 29 games.

“The family issue is the most difficult situation for me,” Patosi said to Masebe Qina in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma.

“As I am speaking to you, I’m not with them and have not seen them in six months, iyandichana ke leyo [it is affecting me] because I am close to my kids.

“My partner and kids were really struggling to cope in Iran and I had to leave them in South Africa in January when I returned to Iran because I could see their situation,” Patosi added.

Qina further went on to ask if Patosi is open to considering the reported interest in his services from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates?

Patosi replied to say: “They should come forward and I’m open to discussing with anyone.

“I will only be able to comment once the interested clubs contact me directly, otherwise I treat everything I hear about those clubs as a rumour for now,” he added.
