Arthur Zwane explains Kaizer Chiefs’ true playing style

Kaizer Chiefs’ brand new interim coach Arthur Zwane has spoken really well about Amakhosi’s philosophy here. This will truly resonate with some fans on a deep level.

It was quite hectic how much Amakhosi fans bemoaned Stuart Baxter’s style of play. The Brit’s attacking game just left a lot be to desired. 

With Zwane, the club’s followers most certainly knew that the former winger understands the ‘Kaizer Chiefs way.’

According to Zwane, the Glamour Boys should first and foremost be unpredictable in attack.

“We are trying not to be so predictable in attack,” Zwane said as quoted by Kick Off.

 “When we reach the final third we should have that element of surprise.

“We need to play with flair, at Chiefs there must be an identity and we will try and push the style of play and how we want to win.“

“We must make sure it works for all our teams, from the development structures there is a way of playing, and we want to take that into the first team.

“It shouldn’t just be about winning for the sake of winning.”

“Mentally the players need to be strong, and as a technical staff we should play a role in helping them to be calm and not to be worried about losing the ball,” added Zwane.

“That is the fear they have, once a player doesn’t have confidence they always kick the ball into the air.

“If you look at the players in South Africa, they have that creative mindset. If you look at our team, only Leonardo Castro and Samir Nurkovic) give us that different dimension,” he concluded.
