Chiefs should target these FOUR Pirates players, here’s why

There’s nothing like transfer deals between bitter rivals. Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are no strangers to it.

Kaizer Chiefs have stated their intentions clear: Bring in younger players with the attributes to play fearless and expressive football.

ARTHUR ZWANE HIGHLIGHTS WHAT KAIZER CHIEFS ARE LOOKING FOR

As The South African previously reported, Zwane was quoted as describing the calibre of footballers Amakhosi will be hunting for in the transfer window.

“We don’t want to play football with fear, a Kaizer Chiefs player must not be afraid of losing the ball because there are three moments which you have to use, without the ball and counter-pressing, all those thing,” Zwane said.

“If you play football with fear as a Kaizer Chiefs player then clearly there’s a problem, so we want our players to express themselves,” he added.

With those statements clearly laid out, the challenging part will be identifying the talent.

One of the factors to look into is where those potential footballers are playing, what the conditions are, their PSL experience, and their levels of motivation.

PIRATES PLAYERS TO LOOK AT

The factors mentioned above are therefore the reasons we’ve looked at Pirates. The Soweto rivals have unquestionable talent that should not be sitting on the bench.

Secondly, the Buccaneers are expected to do as they do every season, which is to transfer list struggling players who demand game-time or to be released.

We have thus found a list of players at Pirates with the ideal ages, playing ability, motivation to prove themselves, big club experience, and hunger for regular time on the match day grass.

1. Siphesihle Ndlovu, 25, Central Midfield: Only played six times this season

It’s not secret Kaizer Chiefs are in search of at least two new number sixes. Ndlovu could be available.

2. Tebogo Tlolane, 27, Left Winger: Made just three appearances

With the likes of Dumisani Zuma expected to leave, Zwane will do with a new attacking midfielder. Tlolane would love to prove he is good enough for a big club after his mysterious struggle at Pirates.

3. Bongani Sam, 24, left-back: Managed only 12 matches

New reports say Kaizer Chiefs are planning to send out Sibusiso Mabiliso on loan, while Sifiso Hlanti and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya have been struggling with fitness.

4. Zakhele Lepasa, 25, Forward:  Played only 12 games.

Lepasa has all the pace, enterprise, and confidence to replace the expected departures of Lazarous Kambole and Leonardo Castro.
