The latest battle between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates came and went last Saturday. Here are five things we noticed.

After what was a disappointing performance and poor advert of Mzansi football, an Olisa Ndah own goal pretty much rescued a dull 0-0 draw.

  1. The attentance was below the 90 000 capaticty with just around 70 000.
  2. Amakhosi’s 19-year-old Mduduzi Shabalala has the maturity and confidence of a senior player
  3. The Pirates combination of Thembinkosi Lorch, Monnapule Saleng and Terrence Dzukamanja completely flopped.
  4. Christian Saile has taken Caleb Bimenyimana’s starting place as the number nine
  5. Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Peterson has fully taken the gloves from Itumeleng Khune.

REPORTS: ORLANDO PIRATES TO SNATCH KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET?

In other news, a very familiar story has repeated itself. The Soweto giants are reportedly competing for another signature.

As it was widely reported in recent months, Amakhosi have been linked with TS Galaxy’s highly-rated central defender Given Msimango, especially with the likes of Erick Mathoho and Thabani Dube linked with departures out of Naturena.
