SOWETO DERBY: ORLANDO PIRATES MIDFIELDER TO MISS KAIZER CHIEFS MATCH

The Durban-born star has been quite an irreplaceable holding midfielder in Jose Riveiro’s side. Pirates do have a wealth of quality central midfielders, but none in the mold of Timm.

POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS

No footballer in the world is exactly the same as another. The best thing any coach can do is set a replacement that will be appreciated for their own unique skills.

Another measure that can be taken is a change of set-up, an example for Pirates would be setting a three-man midfield.

Available options:

  • Ben Motshwari
  • Thabang Monare
  • Goodman Mosele
  • Fortune Makaringe.

Meanwhile, it is not clear if Nbabayithethwa Ndlondlo’s future in the Pirates team is in central midfield or the number 10 position.

Saturday’s Soweto derby is set for a 15:30 kickoff.
