Pirates star Saleng confirms Chiefs scouted him

Close your eyes Kaizer Chiefs fans. Orlando Pirates’ super ace Monnapule Saleng has said he was destined for Amakhosi.

ORLANDO PIRATES’ SALENG WAS SCOUTED BY KAIZER CHIEFS

Long before Saleng made his way to the Sea Robbers, the Bloemhof-born attacker was initially courted by Amakhosi.

According to Saleng’s relocation of events, Chiefs seemingly delayed or lost focus after the club had identified his talent at Free State Stars.

“I was meant to play for Kaizer Chiefs because there is a scout that was tracking me while I was at Free State Stars,” Saleng told SAFA media, as quoted by FARPost.

“And I don’t know what happened. It’s football. In the end, I ended up playing for Pirates. 

“I could have played for Chiefs while at Free State Stars, but they delayed, and I don’t know what happened,” the typically outspoken star added.

ARTHUR ZWANE SALUTES HIS KIDS

In other news, Amakhosi coach Arthur Zwane has enjoyed the steady development of his newest young recruits from the reserve side.

Last Saturday was another special day in Chiefs history. Amakhosi enjoyed special moments from new academy graduates. It wasn’t just against any club, it was against Pirates in the Soweto derby.

Chatting to the media after the event, the Chiefs coach was pleased to see the kids express their talents in the biggest game in Mzansi.

“For me, they changed the complexion of the game. They gave us extra. I think that moment as well that’s when we created that opportunity to score. Apart from that, we looked dangerous, chances that we created,” Zwane said. Read the full story here.
