In case you forgot, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have agreed on transfers before. Just ask Jimmy Tau.

There’s no question, Kaizer Chiefs will continue to hunt for the best talent the PSL has to offer in the coming transfer window. Why so? Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates still have higher quality squads, with many struggling for game time.

SIGN PSL-PROVEN PLAYERS WITH AN EXPERIENCE IN HIGH PRESSURE

This is football. Sometimes you have to sign from your rivals to become a stronger competitor in football and that is perhaps what Kaizer Chiefs need.

At what cost are Amakhosi willing to sign the most exceptional talent in the PSL?

Signing players from the GladAfrica Championship and abroad is a high risk until the player proves himself in the PSL.

It’s well-known that Pirates have the second-best squad in the PSL behind the world-class squad at Sundowns.

If not from Sundowns, Pirates has a handful of players who possess strong qualities to compete for places in the Amakhosi team.

It would be easy to dismiss ‘Pirates rejects’ until a player wears the ‘enemies’ shirt once and delivers the business. That is how football is.

ORLANDO PIRATES PLAYERS WHO COULD IMPROVE KAIZER CHIEFS

We have thus found a list of Bucs players with great quality but have only made way fewer appearances this season than their talent warrants.

Additionally, Pirates, unlike Sundowns and Chiefs, have always maintained younger squads, and age is a value you can’t take lightly in this country.

The list also includes experienced players, which is a need for any balanced football team.

  1. Thulani Hlatshwayo, Defender, 32 – It’s been clear as day that Hlatshayo’s move to Pirates has bombed. He’s 32 but this is a former Bafana Bafana captain who also won the PSL with Bidvest Wits.
  2. Bongani Sam, Left-Back, 24 – This highly-rated left-back perhaps moved too early to a club like Pirates from the now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic.
  3. Thabiso Monyane, Right-Back, 21 – An experienced youth international, Monyane would add value to Kaizer Chiefs if Ramahlawe Mphalele eventually leaves.
  4. Siphesihle Ndlovu, Midfielder, 25 – Anyone who has watched this dynamite before will not doubt his unique quality. Just N’Golo Kante style.
  5. Linda Mntambo, Midfielder, 32 – A fantastic professional and infectious character with all the midfield talent to become a Kaizer Chiefs regular.
  6. Tshegofatso Mabasa, striker, 25 – A Rhulani Mokwena favourite. Similar to Hlatshwayo and Mntambo, Mabasa has a great head on his shoulders. Amakhosi love these players. Additionally, Leonardo Castro looks to be on his way out.
  7. Gabadinho Mhango, Forward, 29 – It’s been well-reported how much the Malawian star is unstable at Pirates.
  8. Tebogo Tlolane, Winger, 29 – Nicknamed ‘Messi,’ Tlolane is one of the most highly-rated attackers in the PS. Pirates recalled him after fabulous season on loan at Maritzburg United last season.
