Is there no hope for the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates? SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt seems to think so. He believes Mamelodi Sundowns just have too much financial power to challenge.

With Chiefs having rebuilt a new squad and Pirates recruiting Jose Riveiro from Spain, including signing some of the best players in the PSL last season, surely Sundowns will not walk away with the title again?

Gavin is not convinced.

“I think Sundowns’ dominance and strong financial muscle has weakened the league. Even Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will struggle to compete with them,” Hunt said as quoted by Velile Mnyandu.

Is Hunt correct? He probably is.

SUNDOWNS NEW SIGNINGS

In addition to having the best squad in the land last season, the champions further went on to strengthen their squad in the current window.

Kabo Yellow have signed Ronwen Williams, Sipho Mbule, Abubeker Nasir, and Marcelo Allende. Additionally, the champions are still expected to announce the Moroccan left-footed central defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil.

Will Percy Tau also make a return after reportedly leaving Al Ahly? Just imagine.
